2025-26 Club Catalog

A = Clubs that meet before or after school (sometimes during the day too).

 

Academic Team A
Tryouts are held each spring. The team mainly competes in quiz bowl, but also joins the National History Bowl and Bee, NCASA’s writing contest The Quill, and NCASA The 12. Students compete in regional, national, or virtual tournaments about once or twice a month on Saturdays. Practices are in HS room 129 on Mondays from 3:00–3:50.

AP Support Club
AP classes are tough because they are like college courses. In this club, students help each other while the teacher gives tips and guidance to succeed.

Arts and Crafts Club
Students will make fun projects to keep or share. Activities may include cross stitching, wreaths, dream boards, diamond art, and holiday crafts.

Boxing Club
Students will learn boxing basics like stance, punches, footwork, and defense. Workouts will include cardio, strength training, bag work, and shadow boxing. This club builds strength, coordination, and confidence.

Chess Club
Students can play chess and practice their skills. Tournaments may be possible if there is interest.

Creative Writing Club
Students who enjoy writing can explore poetry, stories, and creative nonfiction. They will practice writing, share ideas, and give feedback in a supportive group.

Crochet Club
Students will learn and practice crochet. Projects are student-chosen. Crochet can reduce stress, build focus, and boost confidence. Students should bring their own materials (help is available if needed).

Dungeons and Dragons Club
Students will play the popular tabletop role-playing game. Members will go on adventures, fight monsters, and discover treasure. Dice and sheets will be provided.

Envirothon and Recycling
Students will study nature and conservation through hands-on learning. The team competes in the spring at a Friday/Saturday event. Students must apply in advance and may need to stay after school before competition.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes A
This student-led group brings athletes and coaches together for prayer, Bible study, and encouragement. Meetings are before school, as announced.

French Club
Students will explore French culture through movies, music, games, food, and holiday celebrations.

Frisbee and Outdoor Games Club
Students will enjoy being active outdoors through games like Frisbee, badminton, and cricket.

Gliterati (Gryphon Literati)
A club for students who love reading or making books. Members can read their favorite books or learn how to make journals and notebooks.

Gryphon Flight Crew Spirit Club
This group builds school spirit and excitement for school events.

Guitar Club
Students will gather to play guitar and ukulele, learn new styles, and share music. Instruments are available if needed. Performance opportunities may be offered.

4-H Hippology and Citizenship Club/Team (Otium AND A)
This club focuses on horses and prepares for the state Hippology contest. Members learn about breeds, care, and behavior. The group takes trips, does service projects, and visits farms. Meets Wednesdays in HS room 206 after school.

Junior Civitan A
This service club works on projects like Pennies for Patients, potato planting, and Christmas parties. Dues are $20 (help available). Meetings are every other Tuesday after school. Members volunteer about 1–2 hours per month.

Junior Classical League A
For students taking Latin. Members study ancient Greece and Rome, then compete in academics, art, writing, and quiz bowl at regional, state, and national levels. Meets four days a week after school and competes about twice a quarter.

Mindfulness Club
Students will practice activities like yoga, journaling, and meditation to help with focus and stress. In the second semester, they will learn more strategies with a new teacher.

Mu Alpha Theta A
An honor society for top math students (invitation only). Members join competitions, help with events like Pi Day, and may earn scholarships. Meets every other Tuesday after school.

National Honor Society A
For juniors and seniors with at least a 4.0 GPA. Members must serve their school and community. Meetings are once a month, with group service projects each quarter.

Pathways to Wellness
Students use creative projects to support mental health. Sponsored by the school counselor.

Peer Tutoring Club A
Students, with teacher approval, tutor K–12 students who need extra help.

Science Olympiad A
A competition team for students in grades 9–12. Members prepare for events in biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and more. The team competes for a spot at the state tournament.

Sharing Art with the Community Club
Students create group art projects to display in the community, including murals.

Student Council A
Elected student leaders plan fundraisers, dances, and talent shows. Meets once a week before school. Members spend about 10–20 hours outside of school on projects.

Trailblazers Outdoor Club A
A state-funded club that takes students on outdoor trips like hiking, fishing, tubing, rafting, and backpacking. Trips are about two Saturdays each month.
