TJCA sophomores in Art History and upper-level art students enjoyed an inspiring trip to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art in Charlotte last Friday. The visit celebrated 100 years since the Surrealist movement revolutionized the art world with experimental, dreamlike imagery, often shaped by the aftermath of WWI. The museum’s exhibits honored this pivotal moment in art history while showcasing contemporary works influenced by Surrealist ideas and techniques.
This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to delve into visual history and experience art firsthand. A heartfelt thank you to our 10th-grade teachers, Ms. Maskarinec and Mr. Short, as well as our amazing chaperones, Michelle Garcia, Sarah Smart, Dolly Maskarinec, and Emily Short. It truly took a village!
