AVONDALE — On Tuesday night, the TJCA volleyball team earned a four-set victory over Burns to improve to 2-0 in conference play (25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 25-13).
Lexi Greene, Emma Lineberger, and Carley Mullinax combined for approximately 25 kills in the win. Emily Short had five total blocks and Lola Craft was outstanding on the back line to help lead the Lady Gryphons to victory.
TJCA will travel to Highland Tech on Thursday. JV will begin at 4:30 p.m.
On Monday night, the TJCA soccer team traveled to Hendersonville to take on the Bearcats, who are once again one of the top-ranked teams in all of 2A. Nathan Halliday had two goals and Alden Grondahl added one of his own as the Gryphons tied Hendersonville 3-3.
Sixx Brown added an assist in the tie. The Gryphons now sit at 1-1-2 and will travel to Mountain Island Charter for a 6 p.m. start tonight.
