The Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy High School Academic Team recently won the West Regional North Carolina Association for Scholastic Activities Quiz Bowl Competition. This year’s event was presented virtually over the course of six weeks with after-school meets between each of the teams.
Finishing in second and third place for Western North Carolina were Providence High School and Myers Park High School, both of Charlotte. The North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics won the East Regional.
Team members were Noah Champion, Dominik Mystkowski, Aidan O’Reilly, Jack Parker, Camden Sloan, Jennie Conner, and Maylan Maxwell.

The B team placed second in their tournament behind Atkins High School of Winston Salem and ahead of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. Members of the B team included Katrina Shauf, Cooper Xie, Dominic McCraw, Hunter Plaster, Ava Bridges, Sydney Evans, Sophia Christoforou, and Addison Lane.
